Feed-back loop
Today I'm meeting with FM leaders from the eastern part of the Genesis Conference in an informal forum. It's an attempt to open up a feed-back loop so that I can hear directly from pastors and we can talk together about significant issues.
Over the past decade or so Annual Conference sessions have become less and less "town-hall" sessions and most of the significant debate and dialogue has been moved to committees and off the floor of annual conference. That's a good thing and has to happen as we are driven to larger Annual Conferences. But there is something lost in the transition…I think it's a communication loop so bishop/superintendent/pastors can hear what's on each others hearts.
So, as an experiment, I'm meeting for two Saturday mornings here in Genesis with leaders, strictly voluntary. I think it'll be good.
